In 2017, the RiNo Arts District put out a call for artistic bicycle racks to be placed in the neighborhood. Mitch and fellow metal artist Tim Omspach (www.vvolfy.com) applied for and were chosen to create 5 unique bike racks from scrap metal and upcycled tools.
Mitch & Tim decided to create the bike racks in the shapes of mountains, and filled them with welded junk. They combine form and function, allowing for up to 6 bicycles to be locked to each. After a lot of leg work, Mitch was able to contact a number of local business owners who agreed to allow the racks to be placed in front of their businesses:
